Ibiza

Home to the largest club in the world, with nearly 60 beaches and blessed with virtually eternal sunshine, Ibiza is one of our favorite toys. This floating happy pill in the Mediterranean Sea will hit you by surprise when you discover its rustic countryside, untouched villages and soaring cliffs. With its new highway, highend eco-tourism facilities and upmarket restaurants, Ibiza is working hard to upgrade its image.

01
Essentials

01 Almost all the clubs and a lot of shops, hotels, bars and restaurants are only open during peak season (May-October).
02 Avoid August; the month of soldout supermarkets, queues and traffic jams. Try spring, when the almond trees bloss and the island reveals its true colours.
03 Ladies: bring your high heels, but be ready to change for something more casual. Ibiza is all about flip-flop glamour.
04 Rent a car to explore the island, but make sure it's a 4WD, or you won't find the best spots.
05 Make sure you get your siesta. Like in other parts of Spain, nap time is between the hours of 14.00 and 17.00, a perfect time to kick back as most of the shops are closed, too.
06

Only gringos (tourists) eat before 22:00 - in Ibiza dinner traditionally begins at this time and continues until around midnight.

07 Hit the bars and clubs from dusk till dawn or the other way around. In the season, there’s always a party waiting to be gate-crashed.
08 After the serious decadence, do some serious detoxing. Great spa and yoga retreats, organic cafés, and farmers' markets can be found in the unexplored countryside in the north.
09 Open your mind to the Ibiza spirit: this is a freethinking paradise where old, young, hippy and chic all intermingle.
10 Any business plans? Bring a big fortune, in order to make a small fortune.
